God’s Own Junkyard

Once you've got that all-important Instagram snap, make sure to stay and support this amazing pocket of local businesses before it's lost to the tide of housing development.

V&A London Design Festival tour

I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for London Design Festival 2018, but next time, I think we'll go it alone. Ultimately, all of the installations were really interesting, and by just skipping through the most popular ones, you unfortunately also need to deal with the crowds which, in this Instagram-Model age, is best avoided if you're actually there for the art.

Notting Hill Carnival

I really enjoyed exploring some of the wider activities that make up Notting Hill Carnival - as well as the procession, there are loads of areas set up with Caribbean food stalls and music, so you can enjoy the atmosphere without being rooted to 'one good spot'.

Secret Southwark wandering

If you're willing to do some of the research yourself, Living London's wanderings are a good way to see some new places. It's great to be led to some of the more out-of-the-way places, and do take advantage of Sara's encyclopedic knowledge of other places to visit!
